Terms of sale
1. Who we are and what we sell
Adsum Networks Limited ("Adsum", "we") sells firmware licences for the Adsum NTN Relay, and related services, through this store. A relay is a Fanstel BLG20x or LBG20x gateway running our firmware. We do not sell the hardware: Fanstel makes and sells it under its own terms. Satellite and mobile airtime is yours, from your own operator. Device profiles made to order, custom builds and their certification are quoted separately, on the terms of each quote.
2. Business buyers
The store is for businesses, public bodies and other organisations buying for their own use. When you order, you confirm that you are buying for a business and give its name. If you are a consumer, write to us before ordering; different rules apply.
3. The licence
- A licence allows one relay to run the production firmware of the edition bought (the satellite edition or the terrestrial edition). Licences are counted per relay: each relay loaded with the production image uses one licence from your account.
- The licence is perpetual. From the date the production image is first downloaded under it, it includes five years of security releases and twelve months of new versions.
- After twelve months you may renew new versions for a further year, at the renewal price shown at the time, or keep the version you have. A lapsed renewal never stops a relay working.
- The firmware is licensed, not sold. You may not load it on more relays than your licence count, remove its signing or security, or distribute it. Fanstel's hardware and its documents remain Fanstel's.
- Device profiles, updates and new versions published under your licence are covered by the same terms.
- The demo firmware is free and needs no licence. It may be loaded on any number of relays, is limited to ten devices, 10 MB a month over mobile networks and 10 KB a month over satellite, carries no update term, and is provided as it is.
4. Ordering, payment and delivery
- Prices are in pounds sterling and exclude VAT. VAT, where it applies, is shown on the invoice. The price per relay depends on the quantity in the order: 1 to 9, 10 to 99, 100 to 999, or 1,000 or more.
- Until the production firmware ships, the order form takes pre-orders. Nothing is charged when you pre-order. We email you an invoice from Stripe when the production firmware ships, expected in November 2026, which you pay by card or bank transfer. When you send the pre-order you accept these terms.
- You may cancel a pre-order at any time before its invoice, by writing to us, at no cost.
- Licences are delivered to the Adsum account you name in the pre-order, within one business day of the invoice being paid. You load the firmware yourself, from the Hardware page in Adsum IoT Coder.
- An order is accepted when the licences appear in your account. Until then we may decline it, for example where a payment fails or an address is in a country we cannot serve, and we refund anything paid in full.
5. Renewal of updates
New versions can be renewed for a further year at the renewal price shown at the time. At least 30 days before an update term ends, we email you a link to renew; renewing sends you an invoice, and the updates renew only once it is paid. The new year runs from the end of the current term, or from the day of payment if the term has already ended. No card is kept.
6. Refunds
Licences not yet downloaded may be refunded in full within 14 days of purchase. A refund withdraws the licences it covers. Our refunds page gives the detail.
7. What we promise
- Each published version has passed our reliability and security tests on the real board. "Certified by Adsum" means exactly that; it is not a conformity assessment under the Cyber Resilience Act or any other regulation. Radio type approval and electromagnetic compliance belong to the hardware and to Fanstel.
- We do not promise satellite or mobile coverage, airtime, or the behaviour of networks and SIMs we do not supply.
- Our liability to you for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order, except where the law does not allow such a limit. We are not liable for loss of data, profit or business, or for indirect loss.
8. Support and security
Support is by email at support@adsumnetworks.com, within one business day. Security releases are free for five years from each licence's first download, renewed or not, and we tell licence holders of vulnerabilities that affect them.
9. General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If a term is found unenforceable the rest stand. We may change these terms for future orders by publishing a new version here; an order keeps the terms it was placed under.
